What kinds of information does WWPA collect?
We gather information to develop, tailor and deliver our member services, to ensure we are helping you connect and grow. We do not collect personal information unless it is for a lawful purpose, connected to our activities, or is necessary for our purpose as an incorporated society.
The information we gather includes:
Personal information provided by you when you interact with us. This may be when you register as a member, register for an event, or when you provide us with your feedback.
General location information (eg. your region or postal address).
Additional information about you that is requested on sign up such as gender, occupation, employment status, age, secondary contact information, ethnicity etc. You may choose not to provide this information to us by selecting N/A in these categories.
Other information that does not personally identify you.
Who does WWPA share my information with?
We may need to share or disclose:
Some of your personal information to our third-party service providers so they can help us provide and manage our services (e.g. such as billing and invoicing).
Information such as website usage data, clickstream information, and information about your interactions with digital promotional material. These third parties may use such non-personal information to improve their own services consistent with their own privacy policies.
Your personal information to third parties when we believe in good faith that we are required to do so by law.
How might WWPA use my information?
We use the information we collect for many reasons such as ensuring you have information about your membership, sharing communications about upcoming events and informing our communications to ensure they are relevant to our members.
We may use the personal information we collect from you:
For authorising and processing credit card transactions which you enter into online. Credit and debit card information is sensitive information and we do not collect it or store it. We use third party payment solution providers and only engage those that comply with strict industry standards and security processes.
To share information about your membership or events.
To identify and prevent harm to us or others, including detecting fraud, spam, data security incidents, and other harmful activity.
To measure and improve our marketing and communications, including carrying out research and surveys.
For any other uses that you authorise.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that any information we use or disclose is accurate, up to date, complete, relevant, and not misleading.
How can you control the personal information we hold about you?
You can request to access, modify, delete or correct any information we have about you.
If you ask us to delete information we hold about you, we will explain to you how this impacts any membership or event registration you may have. We may be required by law to hold on to some information, even though you have requested for it to be deleted. If this is the case we will provide information about this to you in writing.

What if there is a Privacy Breach?
If WWPA has a privacy breach that involves your personal information and is likely to cause you or someone else serious harm, we are legally required to notify the Privacy Commissioner under the Privacy Act 2020. We will also notify you and any other affected people as soon as practicable.
Can WWPA make changes to this policy? How will I find out?
We reserve the right to make updates and changes this policy from time to time. If we do revise this privacy policy, we will notify you either by making a website announcement or we will send an email to you.
